Ravello Festival 2009...ready to start

You will not miss in your itinerary in Sorrento a whole evening dedicated to art and culture as those offered throughout the year by the Ravello Festival.

Also this year the charming landscape of cliffs overlooking the Belvedere of the Villa Rufolo opens to frame the opening concert. Stellar cast and artistic directors of major powers which art lovers and music from around the world and make this festival the cutting edge of cultural tourism in the Sorrento Peninsula. 
The theatre San Carlo Orchestra, along with the great pianist Ivo Pogorelich were the protagonists of the first seven nights of the section of symphonic music and dance. Will be hosted foreign orchestras of the caliber from the Orchester el'Orkester Norden Philharmonique de Strasbourg, which brings together the best talent in the Nordic countries and Baltic countries. August 29, will be the turn of a violinist leading the international scene: Vadim Repin, for the first time in the Sorrento Peninsula. The culminating event will be the traditional concert at dawn in the night of San Lorenzo, between 10 and 11 August, which ends at sunrise. There will be two real choreographic events: July 24 with a Gala dancers from major companies in the world and on 9 August, but with the debut of Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal.

Still dedicated to music are the Chamber Music and Chamber Music Stroll, who does not forget the non-classical repertoire, from opera in a jazz tribute to Fabrizio de Andrè. Courage inspired the singer Noa, with her recital between Israel and Palestine.

Section Education invites us to tea with the author of which will be distinguished guests writers (Erri de Luca, Marco Travaglio, the five finalists in the Campiello Prize 2009) and scientists (pharmacologist John Gaviraghi el'astronauta Umberto Guidoni). Section CineMusic signed by Lina Wertmuller presents some recent films due to the theme of courage.

The Special Projects Section find space among the other great artistic themes as varied as the first known Neapolitan songs, the other the music videos, theater, jazz and opera (Melo Around the World "- organized by Rai Trade) and forget history, with the project Ravello Grand Tour, dedicated to artists who have made not only of Ravello but of all the Sorrento Peninsula, the place of their inspiration.
Ravello is an oasis of tranquility overlooking the coast from above, and allows you to visit some of the most beautiful historic houses of the coast. E 'especially suited to children and the elderly who want to escape the heat of summer in Sorrento.
To get there, there are special bus line running from Amalfi, but the best way to enjoy a breathtaking journey from the car and the trip to the state highway 163 from the motorway and exit at Vietri sul mare.
