Riavulillo Festival

The diavoletto, "or riavulillo" in Neapolitan, is a typical cheese of Vico Equense and Arola, so named on account of the small dimensions and for the hot heart.

 

The riavulillo is in fact a smoked cheese made of spun paste with a tasty filling of black olives, olive oil and chilli, a treat for the palate of greedy!
The Riavulillo can be enjoyed either as an appetizer or as main dish and it must to be served hot and stringy, grilled, roasted or baked.

 

And so that, in Arola, in the evenings of 30 and 31 July and 1 August, Riavulillo returns on hot coals, to enjoy with its delicious and unique taste.




 

The Riavulillo festival is now in its sixteenth edition, and with the passing of the time it has became one of the most popular festivals of the Sorrento peninsula.

 

The excellent background music, live performances and local wine are the optimum surround to the Riavulillo festival, to live and relive smells, colors, tastes of long times ago!
