Christmas Treasure Trap

Sorrento, over the Christmas period is a plethora of initiatives, amongst these is undoubtedly the Christmas Treasure Trap, an event that takes place strictly on 26 and 27 December each year since 25 years now. This is a classic treasure hunt lasting about 40 hours, in which the resolution of all signs point to a site which is handed another clue and so on until the discovery of the treasure chest. One peculiarity is that the event takes place in an area of several tens of square kilometers, involving both the Sorrento peninsula (from Vico Equense to Massa Lubrense) and the Amalfi Coast (from Nerano to Amalfi).

The aggressive participants, divided into several hundred 6-9 teams make every effort to acquire the right to retain strength for a whole year, single award bestowed by the event, often sidetrack opponents or by following the moves. For several reasons, ranging from the involvement of many people, young and old, the absence of financial gain,for cultural reasons, helping the event to the rediscovery of the history, traditions and beautiful places in the peninsula of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast are dotted, last year the Treasure Hunt Christmas in Sorrento was beautiful gift in the Silver Medal of the Presidency of the Republic.
