Sorrento, over the Christmas period is a plethora of initiatives, amongst these is undoubtedly the Christmas Treasure Trap, an event that takes place strictly on 26 and 27 December each year since 25 years now. This is a classic treasure hunt lasting about 40 hours, in which the resolution of all signs point to a site which is handed another clue and so on until the discovery of the treasure chest. One peculiarity is that the event takes place in an area of several tens of square kilometers, involving both the Sorrento peninsula (from Vico Equense to Massa Lubrense) and the Amalfi Coast (from Nerano to Amalfi).
